    Join Parents partenaires en éducation to explore the essentials of EQAO's large-scale testing and discover how to actively support your children's success.

    In this webinar, parents will learn more about the Education Quality and Accountability Office's (EQAO) Ontario-wide tests. Topics covered include the purpose of the provincial assessments; what the new online tests are and how they relate to the Ontario Curriculum; how the results are used to improve learning in public schools; and how parents and guardians can support their children. Come and ask your questions live and explore the testing platform!

    • Morning: Let's explore the evolution of reasoning from counting to proportional reasoning and beyond!
      This workshop will take teachers on a journey through the evolution of mathematical reasoning from kindergarten to grade 8 and beyond. Teachers and support staff will discover how reasoning begins with counting in kindergarten, kindergarten and grade 1.re year, and evolves to reasoning relations in 8e grade. Between these stages, we'll also explore additive, multiplicative and proportional reasoning.
    • Afternoon: Transforming the learning experience with outdoor learning
      This workshop will enable teachers and support staff to discover strategies and share ideas on integrating outdoor education to provide students with authentic experiences. The workshop will offer inspiring lessons in real-life settings that support student learning with the transformation of the learning experience. As a school team, teachers and support staff will then have the opportunity to work collaboratively to develop questions that will open new doors to success for all!

      • Trousse de progression des acquis langagiers en français de l'Ontario (TPALF) (French only)
        This training will enable teachers and support staff to explore the Trousse de progression des apprentissages langagiers en français de l'Ontario by grade, the oral communication, reading and writing continuums, and the assessment tasks and language learning progressions proposed by the resource. Staff members will be able to create individual and class language profiles that will enable them to diagnose and monitor student progress.
      • Science of reading
        This training course is designed to introduce staff members to the science of reading. Participants will gain an understanding of the issues involved in this evidence-based approach recommended by the Ontario Ministry of Education and supported by years of research. Staff will explore new resources created specifically for francophones and endorsed by leading professionals in the field.

      This workshop will enable staff members to discover how to integrate high-impact teaching strategies and the 6Cs into all your subjects, for dynamic, deep learning. We'll share practical tools to engage every student and enrich your daily pedagogy.
    • Afternoon: Blanket exercise
      This participatory workshop will lead staff to understand the impact of the colonization of the land we know today as Canada, on the people who lived there long before the pioneers arrived. In this exercise, participants will explore the nation-to-nation relationship between Canada's Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal peoples, and how this relationship has deteriorated over the years. They will also determine how they can work towards reconciliation.

      Assessment in education, with clear objectives, varied methods and precise criteria, guides teaching. Engaging students in the assessment process, gathering evidence through observation and conversation, is crucial. By using triangulation, teachers refine their practices. The results guide the next steps, improving teaching effectiveness and promoting the success of every student through constant reflection and adaptation of teaching practices. This workshop, in the form of a pedagogical conversation, will be interactive and engaging for all!
    • Afternoon: Blanket exercise
