The Conseil scolaire de district catholique des Aurores boréales announces the retirement of Lucie Allaire, Director of Education since 2014.
Mrs. Allaire has been involved in French-language education in Northwestern Ontario since 1991, first under the French-language section of the Superior North Catholic District School Board, and then with the Conseil scolaire de district catholique des Aurores boréales, after its creation in 1998.
"We are fortunate to have had Mrs. Allaire with us for so many years," says Sylvie Payeur, Chair of the Board. "Our students, staff, parents and communities have benefited from her passion for French-language education and the importance she places on the well-being of all. She brought a richness that will remain firmly rooted in our Board for years to come."
From the beginning, and still today, Lucie Allaire has always prioritized the well-being and global development of each student. She has put in place initiatives that build on the strengths of students and staff, and on professional collaboration.
"It has been a privilege to grow with an unparalleled team and organization that shares my core values of respect, integrity and loyalty," says Mrs. Allaire. "It is now time to pass the baton to a new generation and begin this next phase of my life, which will be spent enjoying nature with family and friends."
Lucie Allaire and Mireille Major-Levesque have been working closely to ensure a smooth transition since the announcement of Mrs Major-Levesque’s appointment as Associate Director of Education in October 2021. Mrs. Allaire's retirement is effective June 30, 2022.
