The Conseil scolaire de district catholique des Aurores boréales is proud to announce the appointment of Mrs. Mireille Major-Levesque to the position of Associate Director of Education. She will begin her new duties on October 8.

Superintendent of Education at the CSDC des Aurores boréales since 2016, Mrs. Major-Levesque holds the necessary qualifications of a strategic leader and manager. She worked for over 16 years at Val-des-Bois Catholic School in Marathon as a teacher and principal. She holds a Bachelor of Education in the Junior and Intermediate divisions from Laurentian University and a Master of Education with a concentration in leadership from the University of Ottawa.

"We are pleased to continue our journey with Mrs. Major-Levesque who has been a member of our Board for the past few years and who knows our territory and its particularities. She will be able to represent the interests of the students entrusted to us," said Sylvie Payeur, Chair of the Board at the October 7 meeting.

Recognized for her leadership, her ability to manage a variety of files, her ability to listen and her systemic approach, Mrs. Major-Levesque will ensure that she inspires, motivates and mobilizes staff to achieve the mission and strategic vision of the CSDC des Aurores boréales in her new role.

"I am delighted and very honoured to take on this new challenge. I am fortunate to be surrounded by a wonderful and committed team with whom I will continue to promote French-language Catholic education in Northwestern Ontario with pride and determination," said Mrs. Major-Levesque.

This appointment is consistent with the succession plan for the Director of Education position announced in June 2021 to ensure the succession of Lucie Allaire, Director of Education, who will retire in 2022.
