Organizing entity : Board administration Face-to-face / virtual Presentation, guest speaker or organization : Alain Desrochers, University of Ottawa Description (learning methods, topics covered) : The foundations of universal screening for students at risk of literacy difficulties (Alain Desrochers) We will then present a detailed analytical framework for evaluating universal screening tools, examining their structure, possible applications and optimal conditions of use. This framework will be applied concretely to the analysis of the IDAPEL kit, enabling us to identify its strengths and limitations. The workshop will conclude with a discussion of the essential criteria to consider when choosing a screening kit, and the importance of ongoing training to ensure its effective use by school staff. Dr. Marie-Anne Sergerie, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist who offers psychotherapy services in her private office at Clinique Laval on boulevard Saint-Martin Ouest in Laval. 29May 29, 2025●●(5 events) - Full day - Full day - Presented by Parent Partners in Education As their children's first educators, parents play a crucial role in shaping their children's self-image and self-confidence. - What strategies can help children develop a positive self-image? This interactive workshop is designed to be a place for exchange and sharing. Parents and guardians are invited to share their experiences, thoughts and ideas, in a friendly and caring atmosphere. This parents' evening will be hosted by Bertrand Ndeffo Bertrand's expertise has led him to collaborate with the OECD as part of the Programme for International Student Assessment, with EQAO as a member of the OSSLT Content and Sensitivity Committee, with the Ontario College of Teachers' Pour Parler Profession magazine, and with La Cité Collégiale as a content expert and public relations teacher. As a parent, Bertrand was a member of his children's school councils for ten years, including two years as president, and a member of the Parents Partenaires en Éducation (PPE) Board of Directors. In 2021, PPE awarded him the title of "Engaged and Influential Parent" and presented him with a certificate of recognition for his contribution to the project on welcoming and integrating immigrant families into Ontario's French-language schools.
