Description (learning methods, topics covered) :

    • The foundations of universal screening for students at risk of literacy difficulties (Alain Desrochers)

This workshop will enable staff to understand the importance of universal screening of students at risk of difficulties in learning to read and write. We place this operation within a broader framework, namely that of regulating the services offered by an educational system, of which the school board is a part.

We will then present a detailed analytical framework for evaluating universal screening tools, examining their structure, possible applications and optimal conditions of use. This framework will be applied concretely to the analysis of the IDAPEL kit, enabling us to identify its strengths and limitations.

The workshop will conclude with a discussion of the essential criteria to consider when choosing a screening kit, and the importance of ongoing training to ensure its effective use by school staff.

    • Enriched writing (Cédrick Jeanpierre)

Whether in the basic sentence or in the essay, in kindergarten or in grade 12e What questions need to be asked in order to convey a clear and precise message to the recipient? How can writing best reflect the student's thinking? This training will get teachers thinking about how to enrich their students' writing.

    • Transforming the learning experience (School management)

This workshop will introduce you to the nature journaling process and how you can adapt it to all subjects and levels. By following this model, you'll see a transformation in your students, including the development of observation skills, improved writing and drawing abilities, and a greater appreciation of the natural environment. So, let's set an intention and go out together to bring our outdoor curriculum to life, to transform learning and develop essential global skills in a world in transition.

    • Catholicité - La Croix pédagogique, an essential tool to explore with your students! (School principals)

This workshop will introduce staff members to the pedagogical guide designed to support CSDCAB educators in their mission to provide a deeper understanding of the meaning of the CSDCAB interactive cross. This guide is a valuable resource for enriching teaching and inspiring students by engaging them in stimulating educational activities.

    Description (learning methods, topics covered)

    AM - Inclusion practice

As part of this activity, teachers and support staff will view videos on inclusive practices in special education, focusing on pedagogical differentiation as an essential lever for academic success. Based on the content presented, they will analyze how teachers and support staff can adapt their approaches to meet the varied needs of their students, by highlighting their strengths and responding to their challenges. Using the reflection sheet, participants will discuss observed strategies, such as individualizing learning, using a variety of tools and collaboration.

A collective summary will then be written to share the key learnings with the whole group and encourage the adoption of inclusive practices in school environments.

Integrating Annex B of the Framework Program into literacy planning

Appendix B of the curriculum is an extensive and detailed document that outlines the progression of language learning from Grades 1 to 6. This training will give school staff a chance to consider how these concepts can be integrated into literacy planning. The main objective will be to demonstrate that the elements of Appendix B can be incorporated naturally into all areas of literacy.

    Back to school with EspacesÉDU

This session is aimed at all teaching and support staff, and aims to kick-start the school year with digitally-enhanced pedagogical practices.

During this meeting, participants will discover how EspacesÉDU can be used to to document learning, actively involve families, and reward individual progress. With its emphasis on school-family communication and individualized tracking, this tool reinforces transparency, recognition of effort and learner autonomy. Together, we'll start the year with a collaborative spirit and a shared desire to enrich our students' educational experience with tools adapted to today's teaching realities.
