Living in French with my child: Challenges and tips for raising our children in the richness of the French language!
Join Parents partenaires en éducation for a special conversation in celebration of Mois de la francophonie! In our multicultural Canadian society, it's common for families to speak more than one language at home. Young people attending French-language schools can often have only one French-speaking parent. This can pose challenges both for non-French-speaking parents wishing to fully play their role as first educator, and for French-speaking parents needing to assume a greater role in their children's school life.
Come join this conversation as we address challenges, share strategies, explore resources, and create a moment of connection within the community of multilingual families. Let's celebrate Francophonie Month together by sharing our experiences and strengthening our family ties in linguistic diversity!
Information and free registration via Eventbrite event.

Take part in the deputation monday, march 11, 2024 at 6:30 p.m.to the municipality of Greenstone.
Come and cheer on members of the French-speaking community as they voice their discontent and present a brief to city councillors and the mayor.
Background:
Since 2014, the Franco-Ontarian flag has flown permanently in Greenstone.
On February 12, 2024, the municipality of Greenstone decided that this would no longer be the case. At a city council meeting, councillors passed a resolution to lower the Franco-Ontarian flag in all its communities and fly it a few days a year. The community was not consulted.

For Francophonie month, come and share a French text you've written or that you particularly like, at a slam joust hosted by Quebec artist D-Track!
The event is organized by ÉSC La Vérendrye and the Club culturel francophone de Thunder Bay. During the day, students from ESC La Vérendrye and some students from Lakehead University will have the chance to create their own slam pieces with D-Track.
In the evening, we invite any young people who wish to do so to share their text with the community.
You too can get up on stage and share a text you've written or by your favorite author.
Fill in the entry form
There will be 3 categories of participants: high school students, university students, and adults (community).
Feel like sharing your words? Everyone is invited to take part in the slam joust, whether with an original creation or a cover of a beloved author!
Prizes to be won, emotions to be shared... Join us for an unforgettable evening of poetry, culture and sharing!
