Permanent, full-time assignment (1.00) in a non-unionized 10-month position.

 

Reporting to the Director of Wellness and Inclusion, the individual will be responsible for providing the following services in a virtual mode:

 

  • offer direct mental health support services to students to promote well-being and academic success
  • participate in the planning, execution and evaluation of individual and group interventions based on individual strengths and adapted to different populations in a multidisciplinary context
  • provide comprehensive case management and liaise and refer within and outside the Council with community agencies
  • provide support during tragic events or crisis situations by offering direct support to students and consultation with staff members
  • build the capacity of staff who work with students by preparing resources, providing professional development and acting as mental health resource persons.
  • act as a resource person for the Identification, Placement and Review Committee (IPRC) and participate in these meetings as required
  • document all interventions and prepare reports as required
  • serve all board schools

 

Profile required
  • has expertise in child and youth mental health
  • skills in assessing a range of psychosocial issues that impact student success and the ability to develop effective intervention plans
  • advanced oral and written communication skills in French and English
  • superior interpersonal skills in a multidisciplinary context

 

 

Job Requirements
  • bachelor's or master's degree in social work
  • be a member in good standing of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
  • have a valid driver's license and be prepared to travel on Council territory

 

Under Regulation 322/03, every person employed by a school board must provide a criminal history record issued within the last six months before taking office.

 

Remuneration in accordance with the conditions of employment for non-unionized personnel in force. The annual salary of a person with a Master's degree will be between 63,828 $ and 79,786 $. The annual salary of a person with a BAC will be between 50,289 $ and 62,861 $. Please note that this position will be subject to re-evaluation at a later date.
