Permanent full-time assignment (1.00) in a 10-month unionized position.
The Aurores boréales Catholic District School Board is looking for someone to work closely with the school team to provide individualized, caring support for students on differentiated pathways.
Under the supervision of the Wellness and Inclusion Service Manager, the person will :
- participate in the development and implementation of intervention and safety plans.
- offer direct and indirect services to students attending la boussole in the academic and well-being areas.
- work with the special education teacher to implement positive reinforcement strategies to encourage appropriate behavior.
- creating bonds of trust to foster inclusion and academic success.
- lead small groups to foster and develop students' social-emotional and social skills to promote good mental health.
- act as a resource person during tragic events or crisis situations, providing direct support to students and consultation to staff members.
- act as a resource person for the positive school climate team and the implementation of the code of life, code of conduct, etc.
- document interventions via the data management system.
- provide case management and liaison between staff, students, parents and community agencies.
- have a positive leadership
- Demonstrate initiative, innovation, creativity, problem solving and organizational skills
- ability to collaborate and work as a team
- excellent knowledge of the principles of student engagement
- have a valid driver's license and be prepared to travel frequently within the Council's territory and the provinces
- advanced knowledge of spoken and written French and English
- good knowledge of technological tools
- three (3) years' experience in special education or social work
- college diploma in social work, special education or related field
Under Regulation 322/03, every person employed by a school board must provide a criminal history record issued within the last six months before taking office.
The hourly rate is between 35.05 $ and 37.00 $ according to the wage scale in the current collective agreement.
