Contents

Under the supervision of the Director of Communications, the incumbent participates in the achievement of objectives related to strategic communications, promotion of the Board and its schools, and community involvement. He or she participates in the design and implementation of the Board's communications plan.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • coordinate student recruitment and retention campaigns (marketing strategy and promotion)
  • managing the Council's social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube) and creating content
  • update Web and Intranet sites (editing, information gathering and training)
  • support schools and departments in their projects and initiatives (events, staff recruitment, etc.)
  • collect and analyze data to prepare reports
  • media monitoring and writing press articles
  • ensure the Board's participation and presence (community table, kiosk, events, etc.)
  • facilitate links between the Board, schools, families and community organizations

 

Profile required
  • excellent command of spoken and written French and English
  • demonstrates skills in writing and editing communications documents
  • excels in the use of computer tools (Microsoft Office O365, Adobe suite, video editing, Web content management), photo shooting, Web and video content production
  • demonstrates tact, diplomacy and discernment
  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • be autonomous, dynamic, creative, innovative and organized
  • ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • adopts a service approach and works well in teams

 

Job Requirements
  • post-secondary diploma in communications and/or journalism, or in a field relevant to the job
  • at least two years' experience in communications, journalism or marketing
  • experience with social networks, writing and planning web content
  • experience in project coordination
  • experience with a school board, knowledge of French Ontario and French as a minority language would be an asset
  • hold a valid driver's license and be able to travel on the Board's territory

 

Under by-law 322/03, any person employed by a council school must provide a record of its criminal history before taking office.

 

Remuneration in accordance with the conditions of employment for non-unionized staff in force, whose annual salary ranges from 57,486 $ to 70,466 $.
