Immigration is a milestone in life, bringing with it many challenges, particularly in terms of mental health. This webinar, presented by Parent Partners in Education will highlight the importance of self-care throughout the immigration process, addressing the social, cultural and economic pressures that immigrant women, and mothers in particular, may face in Ontario.
This workshop is aimed primarily at immigrant women - teens and mothers - offering a caring and supportive space where they can share practical advice, discover local resources, and explore strategies to strengthen their emotional well-being. Although this workshop is geared towards women, men are also encouraged to participate, as family and community support is crucial to meeting the challenges of adaptation, resilience and building a balanced life in a new country.
As we celebrate Pass it on Purple Day tomorrow, we remind our families that help is available and that no one is alone.
Wear Purple Day is an opportunity to ensure that children, youth and families know that resources and services are available to help them. On October 25, we'll be wearing mauve as a reminder that our Board and schools are places where families can turn for help.
