At the Board meeting held on May 7, 2020, the Trustees approved the appointment of Mr. Michel Mercier as Executive Director of Human Resources.

"Mr. Mercier's extensive experience in both the private sector and the education and health sectors will benefit our Board. His skills and qualifications as a manager in human resources and labour relations will be put to good use in this key position and will allow us to continue to develop a stimulating work environment and maintain a climate that promotes the well-being and fulfillment of our staff," said Sylvie Payeur, Chair of the Board.

Mr. Mercier holds a Bachelor's degree in Administration and is a Certified Industrial Relations Counselor (CIRC). He also holds certificates in labour relations, administration and occupational health and safety. He has 33 years of experience and has held the position of Human Resources Manager in a Francophone school board in Ontario and has served on the Board of Directors of the Association des gestionnaires de l'éducation franco-ontarienne (AGÉFO).

Mr. Mercier will replace Mr. Roger Lepage who will be taking a well-deserved retirement at the end of May after 22 years of dedication to French-language Catholic education. Mr. Mercier's responsibilities will include staffing, benefits management, labour relations, negotiation of collective agreements and compliance with relevant regulations.
