The Conseil scolaire de district catholique des Aurores boréales presented the "Land of the Giants" video as part of the provincial festivities for September 25, 2021, alongside all of Ontario's French-language schools.
Explore our vast Northern Lights territory from Thunder Bay to Longlac, Geraldton to Nakina, Marathon to Dryden, and Ignace to Red Lake.
The narrative and images demonstrate the pride of Franco-Ontarians in the Northwest:
"I sing to you, My beautiful flag!
No more sleeping giants!
In Northwestern Ontario
Proud to be the heart of our country!"
An original idea by Nancy Fournier-Leclerc, Sébastien Hardy and Félix Saint-Denis

Din' moccasins by Greysolon
On the trail of La Vérendrye
I'm packing hope in my bundle
And I explore, proudly, my corner of the world
The sun rises on Longlac
The land of the travelers of yesteryear
Like Maud Gascon, I'm as strong as four,
Here, in the land of giants
He was born there, in Nakina
My dream of a country to run
Two hundred leagues, for the Lake of the Woods
With a giant step, I look for the future
On my way, nothing can stop me
I'm continuing my road of exploration
Just like Terry, I have to do it,
This giant race, this Marathon
Grateful, Ojibwe
From the mighty eagle inspiring me
The biggest lake, I want to fly over
I take a giant leap
I land, between Dryden and Ignatius
I'm looking for the land of the Sioux
Travelers, this is Our Place
The spirit of giant, we carry it in us
From the sky, yellow and red birds
Land in this golden land
It is all around the beautiful Red Lake
That I seize the immense treasure
I'm going home to Thunder Bay
At the head of Lake Superior
My fortress, more than a century old,
Is gigantic in my heart
The power of the Northern Lights
Illuminates in me a whole power
I've always carried it around
And for tomorrow, I'm taking it out tonight
I sing to you, My beautiful flag!
No more sleeping giants!
In Northwestern Ontario
Proud to be the heart of our country!
