As part of Pride Month, our schools raised the Franco-Fier (elementary)/Inclusive Pride (secondary) flag between June 3 and 7. Students attended the flag-raising ceremony and took part in classroom activities. The flag will fly throughout the month of June.
The purpose of these flag raisings in each of our schools is to celebrate diversity and inclusion. We want to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to our communities, to remind people that discrimination and harassment are not tolerated within our schools.
Every student should have the opportunity to succeed in his or her personal life and studies, regardless of origin, identity or personal situation. Our schools are places where students not only learn about diversity, but have the opportunity to experience it. We want our students to feel that they belong and that they are accepted as they are.
Celebrating Pride month means promoting welcome, caring, love and inclusion!
