This year students were able to choose two of the four available workshops. The construction workshop offered students the opportunity to make a bird feeder; students participating in the fabrication workshop manipulated iron to build poles for bird feeders or flower holders. Some students participated in the food workshop where they made cakes, chicken croquettes and apple crisp.

New this year was the heavy equipment simulator workshop which was also a great success. Offering four different heavy equipment machines (bulldozer, excavator, dump truck and a front end loader) students were able to drive without moving, while being guided by Origin Recruitment facilitators.

These two days of workshops allowed the students to think about their future. Considering the shortage of manpower in the construction, industrial, power generation and service sectors, they were made aware of the opportunities to pursue studies in specialized and manual trades.

Thank you to everyone who was involved in making this camp a great success.
