At their annual organizational meeting held Saturday, November 18, CSDC des Aurores boréales (CSDCAB) trustees reelected Claudette Gleeson as Chair of the Board and Sylvie Payeur as Vice-Chair by acclamation.
Claudette Gleeson has represented the Thunder Bay region as a trustee for the past 25 years and has held the position of Chair for the past two years. This will be her second mandate as Chair. Trustee Gleeson previously acted as Vice-Chair for twelve years.
“My first year as president has given me confidence, and I’d like to keep up the momentum. My leadership style may have been a change for the Board, but I deeply appreciate the trust the trustees have given me. We all care about the well-being of our students,” said Trustee Gleeson.
Sylvie Payeur represents the Longlac and Rural East regions. This is her second term as Vice-Chair, after twelve years as Chair.
"Thank you for your renewed confidence. I've been a trustee for 25 years now, and although the education system is constantly evolving, its important to remember that our commitment remains unwaveringly dedicated to the children entrusted to our care," said Sylvie Payeur following her re-election.
The Board’s 213th meeting was also an opportunity to present the Director of Education’s 2022-2023 Annual Report, which highlights accomplishments of the past year and summarizes the Board’s 2018-2023 strategic plan.
