After two years of adjusted ceremonies, the graduates of École secondaire catholique de La Vérendrye were able to celebrate their successes together in person on June 8. The festivities, which took place at the Delta Hotel, began with a smudge ceremony - a first for the school. The "smudge" made by Ms. Cindy Crowe, Lodge Keeper, Executive Director of the Centre Blue Sky Community Healing and member of the Council's Aboriginal Education Committee, was accompanied by the travel song played on the drum. The graduation ceremony honoured this year's 26 graduates. A dinner and graduation dance closed the memorable evening.
Congratulations to the 2022 graduates!
