This fall, our regional schools enjoyed a unique technological learning experience.
Under the expert guidance of Marc Côté, animator at DroneGO, students took part in a day-long introduction to drone piloting and coding. They discovered the basics of piloting, learned more about the principles of flight, and programmed missions using a graphic coding application. This immersive activity also enabled them to explore the multiple applications of drones: aerial photography, agriculture and emergency response.
This experiential educational activity offered students the opportunity to familiarize themselves with cutting-edge technologies while developing practical piloting and decision-making skills. The workshop included live demonstrations and simulations, all in a safe, supervised environment.
"It was awesome to see the drone fly around the school. I loved having the opportunity to fly and handle the drones for activities in the gym," says Jarred, a student in grade 7.e year at École catholique Franco-Terrace. "After this experience, I'd like to buy one for myself!"
Other Aurores boréales CSDC schools will have the chance to take part in this experience later in the year.
