The Conseil scolaire de district catholique des Aurores boréales is seeking candidates to fill the vacant position of school trustee until the next municipal election in October 2026 for the area west of Dryden.

Trustees are local representatives elected by the population and are the community's spokespersons on educational matters. They must carry out their duties in such a way as to help the Board fulfill its responsibilities under the Education Act.

The role of trustees is to focus on student success, student well-being and equity, and to participate in making decisions that benefit the population of the entire board territory, while representing the interests of their constituents. They must also communicate the Board's views and decisions to their constituents.

Advisors bring a variety of skills, knowledge and experience to the table, not necessarily from the teaching field. This diversity contributes to decision-making that respects the interests of the community as well as those of staff members.

School trustees must meet the following criteria:

  • be a Canadian citizen
  • be 18 years of age or older
  • be eligible under the Education Act
  • reside in the area west of Dryden
