🧡 Orange Sweater Day 🧡
This day is an opportunity to recognize the damage caused by the residential school system, particularly to the self-esteem and well-being of the children who were uprooted from their culture, language and family.
On this day of reflection, we reaffirm our commitment to creating an environment where everyone feels seen, heard and valued.
Orange Sweater Day is also a time for First Nations, governments, schools and communities to come together in a spirit of reconciliation, with hope for future generations.
We encourage our schools and families to take the time to learn more about this important day, and to make concrete gestures of solidarity. Here are a few educational resources:

Tomorrow, along with AFNOO - Association des francophones du Nord-Ouest de l'Ontario, we celebrate the 50th Journée des franco-ontariens!
Green and white will be in the spotlight everywhere! 💚🤍
The raising of the Franco-Ontarian flag will be celebrated in all of the board's schools and territories to mark this special day and celebrate our Francophone pride, for the 50th time!
