Following the annual meeting of the CSDCAB, Claudette Gleeson was reappointed as Chair of the Board, while Sylvie Payeur was re-elected as Vice-Chair, by acclamation.
In her speech, Claudette Gleeson expressed her gratitude to her colleagues:
«I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the trust you have placed in me by electing me as president for this new year. Your support touches me deeply and encourages me to continue working with dedication for the education of our children.
I am honored to serve our community and to participate in the presidency of our school board. I am committed to continuing the work that has been started with the ambition of strengthening our educational mission, ensuring that every child has access to a quality French-language Catholic education that respects our values.
I don't intend to do this alone—this is a collective effort. We all have a role to play, and I am counting on each of you to collaborate and advance our priorities. Together, we can accomplish great things for the future of our young people and our region.
I look forward to continuing to work with all of you for the well-being of our students.»
For her part, Sylvie Payeur, re-elected vice president, emphasized her commitment to the school community:
«I would like to thank you for the trust you have placed in me. I have been serving the Council as an advisor for 29 years now, and I still have the same passion for the children entrusted to our care. They are our priority.
The well-being of everyone is really important. It's about cultivating an atmosphere that is welcoming to all: to our staff as well as to the children. Everyone should feel welcome and loved.»
The school board is delighted to be able to count on the experience and dedication of its two elected representatives to continue its mission and meet the needs of the community.
Mireille Major-Levesque, Director of Education, presented the 2024-2025 annual report, which is available on the website of the Council.
