At the annual organizational meeting held Saturday, November 19, CSDC des Aurores boréales (CSDCAB) trustees elected Claudette Gleeson as Chair of the Board and Sylvie Payeur as Vice-Chair.

Claudette Gleeson has represented Thunder Bay as trustee for the past 24 years. This will be her first mandate as Chair. Trustee Gleeson has acted as Vice-Chair since 2010.

"I would like to thank Trustee Payeur for her mentorship these past few years, I am ready for this new challenge. I look forward to continuing our collective work to ensure the success, pride and well-being of our students," said Trustee Gleeson. "I would like to welcome our new trustees and congratulate the elected members for their commitment to French catholic education."

Sylvie Payeur has represented the Longlac and Rural East region as trustee for the past 24 years. Trustee Payeur has served as chair of the board since 2010, she hands over the role to Trustee Gleeson with joy.

This meeting is a first for the CSDCAB’s two newly elected trustees, Trustee Mauro and Trustee Oakes, following their election and entry into function on November 15. As they begin their new mandate, the Board’s trustees were sworn in by the Honourable Justice Chantal Brochu, a judge with the Ontario Court of Justice. This new beginning is the perfect opportunity for Mireille Major-Levesque, Director of Education, to highlight the past year’s activities in the Board’s Annual Report 2021-2022 .

 

The Conseil scolaire de district catholique des Aurores boréales covers and serves nine communities in the Northwestern Ontario region and includes nine elementary schools and one secondary school.
