The Northern Lights CSDC has lowered the flags at all of its schools to half-mast in honour of the 215 missing children whose remains were found at the site of a former residential school in Kamloops, British Columbia on the territory of the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation.

During Aboriginal Peoples' Month, the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada will continue to be at the heart of our education and outreach mandate.

Our prayers are with all the families affected, the community and all the survivors.

If you or your children are experiencing distress, support is available through the Indian Residential Schools Resolution Hotline at 1-866-925-4419. In addition, culturally appropriate health support services for members of the Aboriginal community are available through the Hope Line. [https://www.espoirpourlemieuxetre.ca/]
