Permanent full-time assignment (1.00) in a 12-month non-unionized position.
Reporting to the Executive Director of the Finance Department, the role of the incumbent will be to support financial management, including accounting systems, procurement and payroll. This position is essential to ensure financial compliance and optimize processes to support strategic objectives. Key responsibilities will include:
- participate in budget preparation and management, prepare financial statements and supervise financial data management
- ensure and maintain the application of internal controls and compliance with applicable standards, laws and directives;
- coordinate periodic accounting closures, prepare reports and associated payments
- review and validate the accuracy of financial data in accounting and payroll systems
- participate in the preparation of financial and internal audits and draft the required reports
- reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts
- validate and approve complex accounting entries
- ensure submission of financial reports and required reconciliations
- supervise Finance Department staff members
- manage special projects and assume other related responsibilities
- excellent analytical skills
- ability to work under pressure and manage multiple files effectively
- excellent organizational and time management skills
- proven leadership and team management skills
- good command of spoken and written French and English
- in-depth knowledge of public sector accounting standards and principles
- proficiency in IT tools, in particular Sage 300 or equivalent, and Microsoft Office 365
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration
- at least five years' experience in financial management, accounting or payroll
- strong interest and motivation to obtain a CPA designation
Under Regulation 322/03, every person employed by a school board is required to provide a criminal history record, issued within the last six months before taking office.
Remuneration according to the conditions of employment for non-unionized staff in force, with annual salaries ranging from 77,189 $ to 96,482 $.
