The Board is looking for an early childhood educator to work in the kindergarten program.

 

Under the supervision of the school principal, the Early Childhood Educator provides support by collaborating with the classroom teacher in implementing the Early Learning Program (ELP) curriculum.

 

Profile required
  • knowledge of early childhood programs
  • knowledge of the Ontario Ministry of Education's Kindergarten curriculum would be an asset
  • good knowledge of children's cognitive, physical, emotional, social and language development, and of the learning styles of young children
  • knowledge of best practices in group management and behavior management, promoting positive and self-regulatory techniques
  • ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and maintain harmonious relationships
  • physical ability to meet the requirements of the position
  • ability to use computer software and the Internet
  • advanced knowledge of spoken and written French

 

Job Requirements
  • member in good standing of the Ontario College of Teachers
  • relevant daycare experience would be an asset
  • up-to-date first-aid course certificate

 

Under Regulation 322/03, every person employed by a school board must provide a criminal history record issued within the last six months before taking office.

 

The hourly rate is between 21.87 $ and 28.58 $ according to the salary scale of the current collective agreement. The Board is prepared to consider non-members at the hourly rate of 20.18 $. Priority will be given to members of the SEIU union unit.
