Background: In support of the Ministry of Education’s Community Planning and Partnerships initiative, our boards continuously explore opportunities to share facilities with community partners in order to optimize the use of public assets owned by the boards, to the benefit of boards, students and the community. These partnerships, administered on a cost-recovery basis and through formal agreements, have the potential to reduce facility-operating costs, improve services and supports available to students and strengthen relationships between school boards and community partners.
